I have a MAN

John 5:7 The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”

Hello friends, so Jesus was in Jerusalem and heads out to Bethesda the pool where folks would get healed at, this pool was a sort of competitive, only the person that got into the pool first after the angel stirred up the water got healed. In this place Jesus finds a certain man that had an infirmity for 38 years and asks him “Do you want to be made well?”. Please note that Jesus already sees this man inside out and knows he has dealt with this sick condition for a long time. The beauty of God is overwhelming, He knows us inside out. No wonder the psalmist in Psalm 139 Says the following Psalm 139:1-6 NKJV “O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.
It is comforting to know that God knows me, God knows you , and He does not just know us , He is intimately acquainted with us, Psalm 139:3 NASB You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
The dictionary defines acquainted as having personal knowledge by study, experience or study, but with God it is deeper than this, He formed me , He formed you- He knows you , He knows me , He does not need to take a class or experience or know , He is knowledge itself. What a wonderful thought to behold!!! God is beautiful. Back to “I have a Man”, so Jesus asks the guy if he wants to be well and the man says, “I have no man”. This phrase caught my heart recently when I was feeling sick, I have been getting fevers, chills and other ailments for a long time- years and my immune system has suffered tremendously. I exclaimed to myself “I have a Man”, I was suddenly so grateful for Jesus becoming Man and becoming my Mediator, dying as me and rising up from the dead as me , I realized I cannot say as this man said “I have no man” because “I HAVE A MAN”- JESUS CHRIST SON OF THE LIVING GOD ALIVE IN ME BY FAITH.
Continuing with John chapter 5 , Jesus after hearing the answer of this man is not discouraged that the guy could not discern He is Jesus -the Resurrection and the Life , He tells the man John 5:8-9 Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked.
Check that out!!! Rise up! Thank God that He alone can say “rise” after being sick for 38 years and IMMEDIATELY you do!!! What a MAN this Jesus, the guy did not need to get in the pool, Jesus just spoke to him and told him what to do and just like that the man was healed. We have a MAN, who demonstrated His love towards us while we were yet sinners by dying on the cross for us,
Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.
I am so encouraged by the fact that we have a MAN, I have a MAN, who is my Great Physician, He is my Healer, He healed me before I even knew He existed. Romans 5:6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
He is our Mediator. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,  He communicates and negotiates on our behalf, when everything around us says death ,He says life, when the body fails because of ill health He speaks health , we have a MAN, Hallelujah!
He is our High Priest, Intercessor, Savior and Deliverer- Hebrews 7:22-25 by so much more Jesus has become a surety of a better covenant. Also, there were many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing.  But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood. Therefore, He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. He can never be prevented by death , let me repeat this again  “HE CAN NEVER BE PREVENTED BY DEATH TO ACCOMPLISH HIS PURPOSE” ,hold that thought, This Jesus dwells in us by faith and He cannot be prevented by death from saving us, healing us, transforming us into His own image and likeness, when He stands on our behalf there is no threat He is afraid of, He finishes what He has began , celebrate with me “I have a MAN, Hallelujah”.
There is a peculiar scripture that blesses my heart when I think about this issue of having a MAN. Ezekiel 22:30 So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
God has found a MAN. Jesus Christ His son that offered His own life as a sacrifice that we are not destroyed and for this I am so grateful. He is the fulfilment of my obedience, not by power or might by His Spirit, I cannot help but be so thankful that a Holy God would look at me with eyes of love and help me live despite my sinfulness and weaknesses, I am grateful that by His grace my strength is made perfect in all my weaknesses. I HAVE A MAN HALLELUJAH!
Let us pray :- Our heavenly Father we worship You tonight, we confess our sins and come to You by the Blood of Jesus , In Him we offer our praise and adoration to You, in Him we are grateful that WE HAVE A MAN, we thank You for the forgiveness of sins and for Your Spirit walking with us through our dark slippery paths until we come to the knowledge of who You are and become enthralled by You alone. You are our Great Physician and we look to You for healing and restoration in our bodies, souls and spirits, we give You praise, honor and glory in the Name of Jesus!!! OUR MAN!!
